As Senior Catering Manager, Erica Hinshaw brings years of experience along with a superior sense of style and sophistication to the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. Prior to her arrival 2006, Erica coordinated weddings at Hyatt Regency Islandia, where she was first able to showcase her astounding attention for detail, her astute eye for style, and commitment to execution. Throughout the years, Erica has dedicated herself to making lasting memories and is truly inspired by the close bonds she forms with her couples and witnessing the love between them. Her distinct passion for what she does played a big role in the Estancia's recognition of being "Best Wedding Venue" by San Diego's ABC affiliate, KGTV-Channel Ten.
For Erica, the most rewarding part of the event planning process comes when she sees the groom's faces as they watch their soon-to-be brides walk down the aisle; the smiles on their faces lets her know they have achieved success.

Claire Strickland/Lance Ferrell Wedding
There are not many occasions that take your breath away.
On this occasion, you could not only feel the warmth of the day, but you could feel the love of the family and friends involved. What a wonderful family and group of guests! Claire was absolutely stunning in her White Strapless gown and her Lace Ballet Flats! Lance was dressed to the nines in his formal Marine Uniform. What a great looking couple. The ceremony was breathtaking with a Traditional Marine Sword Arch at the end of the recession. White Lilac, based out of Orange County, was the Florist and Event Decorator for the wedding. I was so happy to have the opportunity to work with this amazingly creative team. Brooke from Details Details coordinated the event, which of course, is AMAZING at what she does. I cant wait to work with her more often. Aaron Delesie was the photographer and Elysium was the Videographer. I was so pleased with this Orange County group of vendors! So professional and wonderful to work with. Congratulations Claire & Lance!

Brooke Hardin/Brian Jarvis Wedding
What a Beautiful Day!
On Saturday, May 10, 2008, Brooke Hardin and Brian Jarvis hosted their Wedding Reception on one of the most beautiful San Diego days you could ever wish for. Without a cloud in the sky to be found, the couple had nearly 200 guests for Cocktails and Hors D'Oeuvres on the Garden Courtyard of Estancia. Estancia welcomed guests with Tray Passed Appletini's, as well as, Lemon Drop Martini's, which are the Bride's Favorite! These delicious yellow and green beverages matched the French Provencal Decor to a tee. Guests feasted on the freshest raw seafood selections including oysters, prawns, crab legs and sashimi out of a beautifully created ice carving in the shape of a seashell, created by So Cal Ice. Guests were escorted into the La Jolla Ballroom for the formal dinner and dancing. The Rembrandt Band serenaded the guests with beautiful sounds as they entered the ballroom. Kathy Wright and Company magically transformed the ballroom into a French Provencal Garden. Canary linens and centerpieces incorporating ripe pears, enormous white florals, curly willow, and draping greenery helped to create the ambiance in the Room. Paul Barnett captured the memories of the day on photograph. Trena Lozano with Special Occasions, along with her 4 assistants, once again, created a very smooth and successful event. Brooke commented, "I was amazed how seamlessly the event progressed...it was a dream come true! It felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves, and my whole family was treated like royalty. The staff was incredible and the venue was breathtaking. If I had it to do over again, I would not have changed a thing! Brian and I can't wait to come back for our one-year anniversary!"
